Heather Freeman Black

Heather Freeman Black grew up in Stowe, Vt., and after earning her BA from Colby College, moved to Boston where she worked in the international department of BayBanks for two years (as she speaks Spanish, reasonable French, and basic German). In 1988, she began work at Ski Racing where she held multiple positions from executive assistant to photographer to chief operating officer of Sports File, Ski Racing’s former photo arm. Heather remained with the publication until 1995 when she and her husband, Gary Black Jr. (then CEO of Ski Racing), moved to Sun Valley, Idaho.
Amanda Rising Black
Wood River Valley, Idaho
Amanda currently works for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Foundation as Director of Development, Major Giving. Previously, she was the publisher of Ski Racing, where she worked with her father, the late Gary Black, Jr. Amanda first began working with the publication at the age of 16 in a variety of positions and eventually became ad director in 1995. She left in 2002 for a sales and marketing position at Clear Channel Communications after Ski Racing was sold to Inside Communications. In 2006, she returned to Ski Racing in the capacity of publisher. She was recently appointed as one of the managing partners of Ski Racing Media. Amanda has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont. She relocated to the Wood River Valley from York Harbor, Maine. Her son, Harrison, is in the second grade at Community School.

A Minnesota native, Claire Brown grew up bashing gates under the lights at Buck Hill before joining the University of Denver Pioneers where she earned NCAA All-American honors and helped her team win two National Championships. After graduating with a degree in finance and marketing, she relocated to Park City and now enters her seventh season at Ski Racing Media. Christine J. Feehan

As a USSA Level 300 alpine coach and official, Christine J. Feehan spent more than a decade training elite athletes at some of America's preeminent ski academies – Burke, Sugar Bowl, and Killington – prior to joining the staff at Ski Racing Media in 2011. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Skidmore College and has completed advanced certificates at the University of Vermont and the University of Texas at Austin. A California native, Gabbi Hall moved to Vermont to compete on the NCAA ski circuit for St. Michael’s College, where she served as team captain and studied journalism. Before joining Ski Racing Media, she worked as a broadcast TV producer and social media manager in higher education. A Lake Tahoe native and University of Vermont graduate, Sean Higgins was a member of the Catamounts' 2012 NCAA title winning squad and earned first team All-American status in 2013. Prior to joining the staff at Ski Racing Media, he coached U14s for the Squaw Valley Ski Team.
