Francesca Marsaglia will spend a few weeks resting following surgery at La Madonnina in Milan, Italy, for an inguinal pubic syndrome that prevented the 27-year-old World Cup skier from training regularly. The operation was carried out by Dr. Giampiero Campanelli under the supervision of the FISI Medical Commission.

“Just to clarify, I had to do a surgery to remove a sport hernia and to go to reinforce the back wall of the inguinal canal,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

Marsaglia will have ten days of complete rest and begin gradual preparation for return to snow. The goal is to be on the South American trip to Ushuaia, Argentina, scheduled for the beginning of September.
