CVA Summer Camp

Website: https://www.gocva.com/alpinecamps

Why You Should Attend This Camp: We use an age-appropriate blend of freeskiing, skills quest drills, gate drill courses and full-length GS & SL training to develop solid balanced technique and focused tactics for this age group. Full day (typically 8-3) winter skiing in this expansive Chilean resort cannot be compared to skiing just mornings in a lane on a western glacier. Other standout elements include a low (6/1) athlete/coach ratio, winter snow conditions, family atmosphere (parents invited to attend), 1800 acres of skiable terrain, 29 runs, longest is 5 km long, 860 meters of vertical drop, 6 lifts, 5 meter of snow average annually, and a luxury hotel with spa & customized meals.

What Makes This Camp Standout Above the Rest:

This is a CVA camp for our ski club & academy that we open up to a limited number of athletes from other clubs. It is not a commercial camp so the atmosphere and training are very individualized. We require strong recommendations from home coaches for any athletes we don’t already know. Our camp director, Ron Bonnevie has 40 years of coaching at all age groups.

There will be daily video review sessions, fun evening activities, ski tuning instruction, family-style meals as a group, heated pool, sauna & jacuzzi, billiards, ping pong, cinema. We will ski two 5-day sessions on snow, with a day off between for a cultural visit to Temuco, Chile to immerse the group in the Chilean culture. We’ll be helping the athletes to practice a travellers vocabulary in Spanish as well.
